Where to stay in Vancouver

The Vancouver International Airport is actually located within the the City of Richmond, a few short kilometers from the downtown core of Vancouver.

This properties near the airport run a fairly wide range in terms of pricing and accomodation levels. Some are targeted towards the budget conscious traveler, others aim to attract convention and conference business.

Of the hotels listed here, only the Fairmont Vancouver Airport Hotel is located within the airport terminal itself. The others are located a few minutes drive away in Richmond.

There is great taxi service at the airport. Most if not all hotels offer their own airport shuttle service and public transportation is excellant.

Just a quick point about public transportation. Skytrain service to and from the airport is not operational at this time. This service, which will be known as the Canada line, is due to open for service in 2009.

I recommend the YVR Airporter for scheduled bus service between Vancouver Internation Airport and downtown Vancouver hotels.
