Cleveland Dam
The Cleveland Dam is part of the the regional resevoir system that supplies drinking water to Vancouver and other cities within the region. Located on the Capilano river you would get to the Cleveland Dam
on Capilano Road in North Vancouver. North Vancouver is north of Vancouver and is on the other side of the Burrard inlet opposite Vancouver. Capilano Road is also the road you would take if you were on your way to Grouse Mountain an the very popular Capilano Suspension bridge.
There is also a fish hatchery at the Cleveland Dam but ususally my reason for stopping is to see the shear cliffs cut into the mountains by the Capilano River. With a public park that backs onto the Capilano Resevoir, the Cleveland Dam is also a great place to have a picnic and watch the Grouse Mountain gondola make it's way up and down Grouse Mountain.
On a recent trip to Vancouver ( most likely to see a Whitecaps game ) I stopped by the Cleveland Dam and took some pictures. Those pictures are on the next few pages below.
