Find a Wedding Photographer

wedding couple, wedding photo, wedding photographers

This is where you will find out the right questions to ask when choosing a wedding photographer for your special day! Your wedding photos are extrememly important and you will want to make sure you hire the most qualified candidate for the job. The photographer has two jobs when hired for a wedding which are to produce fabulous memories of your wedding day and also be highly proper and professional every step of the way while fitting into the celebration.

How do I choose a qualified wedding photographer?

The style of the wedding photography is very important for this very special day in your life. Ask the photographer what their background and experience is with weddings. Even ask if you can see thier portfolio and wedding related photos so you can see the approach they have.

Is the work consistent all the way through?

Insist on looking at all the photos of a complete wedding. After photographing 30 weddings, it is very easy for the photographer to have 30 lucky shots. Only the good photographers will be brave enough to show you a complete wedding.

Are the photographs a true representation of the photographer's work?

If you are considering working with a studio that has several photographers insist on looking at the portfolio of the photographer that is going to photograph your special day.

Does the studio or photographer offer high quality albums and custom printing?

With all the technology now it is common for some photographers to offer to photograph the wedding, hand you the proofs, and then give you a CD or the negatives with the photos. Make sure the photographers knows beforehand if you want a custom printed album.

Would you prefer posed photographs or do you prefer action and natural photos?

Most couples these days prefer traditional wedding photography and a touch of journalistic flair. They look for a photographer that can capture the spirit and the true emotion of the celebration.

Whatever style you prefer the photographer has to be a master of the craft. Take a good indepth look at the photographer's portfolio.

You will be surprised and shocked to know that many wedding photographers go to weddings with just one camera. If the camera breaks during the wedding it will be massive loss of memories! Make sure they bring back up camera equipment!

Has he or she been in business for a long time or is this their first wedding?

You as the client need to know if this photographer is experienced with weddings. Are they originally a sports or nature phographers? Wedding photography requires special technical, artistic and people skills and a wedding is not exactly the type of place for a beginning photographer to learn.

Does the photographer follow the rules of the church, synagogue or temple? Does he/she listen to you? Does he/she have people skills? Does he/she dress professionally? Does he/she look professional?

Personality and professionalism play very important parts in a wedding photographer. If you hire the wrong photographer, you and your guests will be pretty upset. Make sure they are personable!

Just remember that before you hire your wedding photographer do your research and you will be happier and feel more secure on your special day!

ENJOY YOUR SPECIAL DAY!
