Vancouver ski report for the three local mountains plus Whister.
There are three ski hills near Vancouver that are considered the "local mountains". Those three ski hills are Seymour, Cypress and Grouse mountains. Each of these three hills are located in what the
local residents refer to as the North Shore. The North Shore is where you will find the municipalities of North Vancouver District, North Vancouver City and West Vancouver. I know, it seems
confusing, three different cities called Vancouver, and "no" we don't just call everything "Vancouver" just to confuse the Americans. We just figure that since "Vancouver" is so great, why not call
everything "Vancouver". Incidently, all three of those cities on the North Shore have their own separate mayors, city councils and city staff! Here is your Vancouver ski report including Whistler.

Whistler BC
Whistler is a world class all seasons destination resort that plays host to world cup downhill ski and snowboard events including freestyle and other genres.
Whistler is approxiametly 2 hours driving time from Vancouver which does make it possible to stay in Vancouver and still enjoy skiing at Whistler. But I recommend that if you want to ski at Whistler
you also stay at the resort because there is tons of accomodation choices and lots to do when you are done skiing for the
day. New for 2008/2009 ski season: Whistler Jobs!
