Gastown Tattoo Parlour is Vancouver’s newest tattoo and body piercing shop located at 105 West Cordova and offers a new experience when it comes to body art.
Headed up by young local up and coming tattooist, Mitch Kirilo, GTP is a classic, upscale tattoo and body piercing studio which breaks the stereotypical image of “tattoo parlour.”
The location at 105 West Cordova is in a historic Gastown building that was built in 1900. Wrought iron gates, exposed brick walls, a large chandelier and original hardwood floors gives the 1550 square foot space a lot of character. The location was previously a hair salon so a face-lift was given to the space to give it a unique tattoo parlour feel – It truly is enormously different than any other tattoo shop in Vancouver. Gastown Tattoo Parlour is equipped with state of the art tattoo and sterilization equipment (in addition to other modern amenities such as an IMAC, a professional stereo system and a ceiling-mounted flat screen television showing work by the artists), but it still maintains a classic feel. The goal of Gastown Tattoo Parlour is to appeal to people looking to get tattooed or pierced in a clean, first-class environment by approachable, unintimidating yet capable artists.
What you won’t find at Gastown Tattoo Parlour is a bunch of dated tattoo flash racks of unoriginal art. The focus is on custom tattoos. Each of the five artists (all coming from various established Vancouver Shops) has their own style and works with the customer to produce an original tattoo based on what the client is looking for. Customers can provide examples of what they are looking for and show the artist on our computer specific examples then the artist will draw up a custom design.
Locally made jewellery is available and Custom Shop T-shirts are for sale in which 10% of the proceeds are being donated to RainCity Housing.
